     The British Virgin Islands (BVIs) are part of a volcanic archipelago, which means that the main mode of transportation from the capital of Road Town on Tortola (one of the four main islands) to the outlying islands is by scheduled or chartered water taxi.  Not a big deal, and certainly worth the extra effort in order to enjoy crystal clear water and some of the most beautiful beaches, boating, sailing, diving and snorkeling conditions found in the Caribbean.
